Project Coordinator I and 2 β Special Projects & Community Partnerships (Volunteer)
Position Overview
Machiah’s House, Inc. (MHI) is seeking two dedicated Project Coordinators to lead and strengthen MHI programs and initiatives. This role ensures that all programming remains cohesive and aligned with our mission of supporting youth aging out of foster care and individuals experiencing housing insecurity through wellness, education, and access.
MHI Project Coordinators will hold a key role in the organizational aspect of MHI programming as it relates to our funding and resource support. Project Coordinators will work closely with the Founder, Volunteer Coordinator, Social Media team, core contributors and community partners to develop meaningful programming, cultivate partnerships, and expand MHI’s impact.
Primary Responsibilities
Program & Project Coordination
- Coordinate and oversee special projects to ensure alignment with MHI’s mission and organizational goals.
- Meet regularly with the Founder, and team to review upcoming initiatives, organizational priorities, and mission alignment.
- Assist in developing annual and quarterly programming goals.
- Attend special events with the Founder, as appropriate.
Volunteer & Team Development
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to identify and recruit volunteers interested in serving on the Special Projects Team.
- Help develop, organize, and support the Special Projects Team.
- Assist in assigning volunteers to projects based on interests and organizational needs.
Community Partnerships
- Identify, cultivate, and strengthen partnerships with community organizations, businesses, universities, and service providers.
- Secure volunteer opportunities and collaborative partnerships that support MHI’s mission.
- Develop relationships with neighboring transitional housing programs through regular communication and collaborative programming.
Program Development
Plan, coordinate, and implement programming including:
- Small and Large wellness and educational events.
- Programs that directly serve youth aging out of foster care and individuals experiencing housing insecurity.
University Collaboration
Serve as MHI’s liaison with UNC Charlotte by:
- Maintaining regular communication with university representatives.
- Working toward a goal of completing at least three collaborative projects during the academic year.
- Supporting student engagement and volunteer participation.
Annual Programming Goals
The Project Coordinator will work toward facilitating:
- One large-scale event annually that directly engages youth aging out of foster care, either on or off campus.
- Two to three smaller wellness or educational events each academic year, supervised by a licensed Master of Social Work (MSW) when appropriate.
Data Collection & Reporting
Maintain accurate records and assist with reporting by tracking:
- Individuals served.
- Number of participants.
- Target population served.
- Program outcomes and community impact.
- Partnership and volunteer engagement.
- Record programming through pictures and video for social media and visual reporting
Commitments:
The ideal candidate must:
- Be willing to dedicate at least 5 or more hours a month to plan, implement and strengthen programming for MHI
- Communicate effectively and in a timely matter to phone calls, texts and/or emails
- Have strong organization, public speaking and event planning skills
- Have access to and be able to operate zoom, google meet and electronic calendars
- Technologically savvy with social media and picture taking
Previous event planning and coordination experience is a plus. All candidates must be willing to complete a standard background check.
