Machiah’s House is a faith- based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young women (ages 18-24) who have recently aged out of the foster care system. Our organization is registered in the State of North Carolina. We are funded through private and public contributions. While we are currently working toward securing our first transitional home, our commitment to serving vulnerable young women remains unwavering. The Machiah’s House team continues to make a meaningful impact through life skills workshops, community partnerships, mentorship opportunities, and special programming.
We are not currently accepting housing applications, however, welcome referrals from DSS, the Department of Education, faith-based organizations, community partners, families, and friends for the programs and services we currently offer. Our workshops, events, and community gatherings are made possible through the generosity of our volunteers, staff, donors, and partners.
You can help bring our vision for a transitional home to life through a donation today. Your support will help fund the future of our transitional housing program and create lasting change in the lives of young women seeking stability, guidance, and hope as they build their futures.

The second week of June, our founder, Dr. Shandria Pridgen, joined the Home4Me team for their annual “Old School” Cookout. The event brought the community together for great food, fellowship, gifts, and fun. We were honored to contribute gift cards for the amazing youth we serve, helping make the day even more special. We are grateful to Home4Me for hosting such a meaningful event and look forward to future opportunities to partner in service to our community. Thank you to the donors for making it happen. Together we raised $700!
In April, our wonderful Machiah’s House volunteers at UNC Charlotte wrapped up the semester with a fun and engaging Ice Cream Social! Students and guests enjoyed sweet treats while reflecting on the year’s accomplishments, experiences, and discussing the impact of our programs. We are grateful for the dedication and enthusiasm of our volunteers and look forward to expanding programming like this in the fall.
