The Heart Behind the Brand
Machiah’s House aims to be the support behind young women who have recently aged out of foster care and are faced with life’s challenges as they transition into adulthood. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered in the state of North Carolina, we are funded by private and public contributions.
“To all who mourn in Israel, He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair”
~Isaiah 61:3
Who We Are
To improve the lives of young women who have aged out of foster care, through an innovative partnership of community resources that enhance their safety and quality of life.
Machiah’s House is committed to ensuring that all young female adults impacted by foster care have safe, healthy, and nurturing stability through a quality, comprehensive continuum of care in the fields of social services, education, career-building, corrections, mental health and housing that promotes strong self-independence and advocates for change. We continuously innovate to provide an unwavering commitment of proven programs that engage natural supports to grow, connect, improve and move forward to healthy development.
As a faith-based organization, we value:
- A belief in God, promoting spiritual growth and relationships that foster Christian morality, responsibility, a need to serve others, and a strong work ethic.
- Honesty, Integrity and Ethical in all interactions.
- A right for all young adults to be safe and respected as they realize their fullest potential for their lives.
- A nurturing environment that emphasizes personal responsibility, positive communication, effective decision-making and appropriate expression of one’s awareness.
- The goal for each young adult to have reconciliation with their past, zeal for the present and hope for the future
This is Why We Serve
Machiah’s House is devoted to empowering young women ages 18-21 who are aging out of foster care. Although we are currently in the process of securing our first transitional home, our commitment to supporting these young women remains unwavering.
We welcome referrals from DSS, the Department of Education, faith-based partners, community members, families, and friends. When our residential program launches, Machiah’s House staff will oversee all admission decisions to ensure the best fit and supportive environment for each participant.
We invite agencies, schools, churches, and interested families to contact us for updates on progress, partnership opportunities, and future placement availability.
