VOLUNTEER:

Machiah’s House volunteers come from across the community to lend a hand, helping our young female adults in crisis overcome obstacles and truly embrace their lives as they enter into adulthood. All volunteers choose to dedicate their time in order to make a difference in the lives of our community’s young adults and for that we are immensely grateful!

Volunteers act as mentors, tutors, a friend, and a vessel of unwavering support for our young female adults. Volunteers invest their time in forming relationships with youth that are in crisis.

There are a variety of opportunities for you or your organization to make an impact at Machiah’s House. Churches, other groups, and individuals can volunteer at our home. Individuals and groups may volunteer to help with a one-time event or an ongoing project. Volunteer opportunities may include teaching crafts, tutoring, physical work programs, or mentoring. For more information about volunteering, please contact us at (704)-669-8016.

Everyone can do something. We are not all called to the same thing, but we are all capable of something. Sometimes it’s the simplest things – like bringing a meal or tutoring, facilitating arts & crafts for a couple of hours – that go the longest ways.

BECOME A MENTOR:

Becoming a mentor means investing in a healthy, positive relationship with a young adult. Mentors have the opportunity to help them develop high self-esteem through this friendship. Mentors will make plans to visit the community and participate in fun, social activities or simply visit and talk with the young adult.

To get started, please complete one of the volunteer forms below. After your application has been submitted, an individual volunteer or one representative from each group will be required to complete a background check.
