Residential Programming:
Machiah’s House is currently developing a loving “home away from home” for young female adults (ages 18 to 21) transitioning out of foster care.
While we are actively securing our physical location, we are preparing to accept referrals from any concerned person who knows of a young woman in need of a safe, stable, and Christian environment. We invite you to learn about the structured support our future residents will receive. Our future residents will be strongly encouraged to pursue their education (High school diploma/GED and/or college) as well as obtaining employment and participating in volunteering opportunities in the community.
- Academic Excellence: Education is important, and through future partnerships with local institutions, we plan to have volunteers available to tutor and help improve academic performance.
- Holistic Development: In addition to planned counseling/therapy, emotional, and spiritual support, our young adults will learn essential life-skills, such as good work habits and money management.
- Enrichment: We will offer an abundance of enrichment activities, such as organized sports, cultural programs, arts and crafts, summer events, and other activities.
Our dedicated team is well versed in child welfare systems and has extensive experience through Department of Social Services (DSS), Guardian Ad Litem (GAL), Continuum of Care, residential services, and other volunteer programs. Machiah’s House is committed to ensuring compassionate staff meet each young adult’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Our future residents can rest assured that they will be well cared for while they work through their challenging circumstances.
Machiah’s House is currently developing and raising funds for a transitional apartment/townhome to serve young women (ages 18-21) aging out of foster care. We are building a safe, stable, and Christian environment focused on independence and self-sufficiency.
Our entire program is built around the A.C.E. Model (Academics, Counseling, and Employment). We aim to equip residents with the skills and confidence necessary to launch successful, independent lives.
We are preparing to offer extensive support guided by our experienced staff and Social Work Interns:
- Self-Sufficiency Training:Personalized development plans for social, self-help, and community living skills (e.g., meal preparation, money management, personal hygiene).
- The C.R.O.W.N. Program:Our specialized curriculum focuses on Communication, Relationships, Offer of Service, Wellness, and Nutrition to build self-esteem and community.
- Health and Wellness:Access to essential medical, dental, and emergency care.
- Community & Fun:Structured opportunities for volunteering, organized sports, cultural programs, and celebrating milestones like birthdays and holidays.
Our team is composed of compassionate staff with extensive experience in child welfare systems. We are dedicated to ensuring every future resident is well cared for as they achieve their goals.
